HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
If you are an ARTIST seeking space and support to produce your work, email Executive Director, Jacqueline Christy : info@accesstheater.com. Click on the PROGRAMS tab on our website for information about our subsidized rental and rehearsal space at either of Access Theater’s venues: the Black Box Theater and Gallery Space. NOTE: DUE TO AN ONGOING ISSUE IN OUR BUILDING, WE CANNOT CURRENTLY OFFER FREE OR SUBSIDIZED SPACE.

If you are a PATRON OF THE ARTS and want to support a Tribeca theater with a 30-year history of providing highly subsidized spaces to artists to experiment and create, CLICK HERE to make a tax deductible donation. DOES ACCESS HAVE AN ELEVATOR?
Yes! Our elevator is located around the corner from our main entrance on 70 White Street. Artists working at Access as well as audiences coming to see our shows are welcome to use the elevator. 


CAN WE WORK WITH EQUITY ARTISTS?
Yes! You must get approval from Equity under the New York Showcase Code. Click here for more information! 


DO I NEED INSURANCE?
Yes! Access Theater holds insurance covering the facilities from property damage and Access Theater liability. This insurance DOES NOT cover production damages and liability. The Artist must show proof of insurance (general liability and/or volunteer accident insurance) before the first day of rental. We recommend Fractured Atlas!

 
ARE THERE DRESSING ROOMS?
Yes! There are dressing rooms for both the Gallery Space and the Black Box Theater.

 
HOW DO I BOOK THE SPACE?
In order to book either the Gallery Space or Black Box Theater, you must sign a contract and submit 50% of the total payment. This will hold the space for you. Payments can be made by cash, check, bank check, money order, or PayPal. NOTE: DUE TO AN ONGOING PROBLEM IN OUR BUILDING, RENTERS MUST ALSO BOOK THE 5TH FLOOR (JUST ABOVE ACCESS).

WHAT IS THE PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE AT ACCESS?
This is our weekly performance schedule for the Black Box Theater:

Wednesdays from 8:00-9:30PM
Thursdays from 8:00-9:30PM
Fridays from 8:00-9:30PM
Saturdays from 8:00-9:30PM
Sundays from 2:00-3:30PM

This is our weekly performance for the Gallery Space:

Thursdays from 8:00-9:30PM
Fridays from 8:00-9:30PM
Saturdays from 8:00-9:30PM
Sundays from 8:00-9:30PM

If you want to schedule performances outside these designated times, let us know at the signing of your contract so we can ensure access to the space during those times. 


WHAT IS NOT ALLOWED AT ACCESS?
There can be no open flame, haze or fog (fire alarms will activate), animals, big physical dance, loud amplified sound, sand, unpreserved dead animals, leaves, hay or other dried grass, solvents, untreated combustible materials, spray paint, dirt, pools or standing water, duct tape, nails, and dyes. 

DO YOU HAVE WIFI?
Yes! You will receive the Wi-Fi password on the day of your Load-In.

DO I NEED A FIRE GUARD AT EACH PERFORMANCE?
Yes! Each production must dedicate one person on their staff as the dedicated Fire Guard with a valid FDNY F-03 Certification. This person must execute all responsibilities of a NYC FIRE GUARD and keep a log of each work call, rehearsal or performance in the log provided by Access Theater. Click here for more information!
